Napa Valley is one of the premier travel destinations in the world. Located north of the San Francisco Bay Area, with breathtaking views at every turn – mustard in the late winter, picturesque rolling hills, planted with vineyards year-round and wineries of every stature dot the landscape.
Napa Valley, once the producer of many different crops, is known today for its wine industry, rising in the 1960s to the first rank of wine regions with France, Italy, and Spain.
It is widely considered one of the top American Viticultural Areas in California, and all of the United States, with a history dating back to the early nineteenth century. By the end of the nineteenth century there were more than one hundred and forty wineries in the area.
Today, Napa Valley features more than four hundred wineries and grows many different grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Zinfandel, and other popular varietals.
It offers new discoveries and things to do with each return visit. Whether you are wine tasting, dining at one of the renowned restaurants, pampering yourself with a massage at the spa, or just enjoying a relaxing stay at the Auberge du Soleil resort... Napa Valley is a spot of heaven on earth.
Auberge du Soleil
Three words describe the Auberge du Soleil philosophy: "Pleasure is Healing."
Here, life’s earthly pleasures are celebrated in the serenity of an intimate hillside setting that has captivated guests for 30 years.
It was these breathtaking valley views that inspired French-born restaurateur Claude Rouas to recreate the sun-drenched ambiance of a Provençal restaurant in the California Wine Country. As Napa Valley’s first fine-dining establishment, it opened to acclaim in 1981 and quickly gained recognition as one of the leading and best restaurants in Northern California, not only for its superb cuisine, but also its spectacular natural setting.
The pleasures of a gorgeous view enjoyed with a glass of wine and an exquisite meal invite lingering. Rouas and business partner Robert Harmon made it possible to do just that in 1985, when they opened the inn, a collection of sun- and earth-toned rooms and suites, each featuring French doors opening onto private terraces, cozy fireplaces and sensuous elements such as private soaking tubs for two.
UNIQUE VWT SUITE ACCESS™ EXPERIENCE/AMENITY: 6 artisan chocolate truffles made with cocoa beans sourced from small batches of fine aromatic cocoa in Nicaragua by Executive Pastry Chef Paul Lemieux.
The Auberge Spa
The Auberge Spa occupies 7,000 square feet overlooking the Napa Valley.
Embracing a nurturing philosophy embodied by a unique menu of body and facial treatments, the Spa utilizes natural ingredients indigenous to the region.
Auberge Spa guests can arrive early to enjoy a water ritual, which includes a soak in each of the three temperate springs overlooking the Napa Valley vineyards and Auberge’s olive grove.
