Greenough is a ranching community located in the Blackfoot Valley of Montana. It is a place with a very long history dating back to when the Blackfoot River served as a transportation corridor for Nez Perce, Flathead and Blackfeet Indians and later for fur trappers, miners and loggers. The Indians called the river “Cokalahishkit,” which means “the river of the road to the buffalo.” The community is a haven for wildlife and the majesty of nature. If you're seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of City Life, this is the perfect place to venture to this Winter. Pristine solitude and vast open landscape will make you feel at peace with the world as you take in the spectacular views. Returning to civilization may be difficult after you've experienced what life could be like out on the frontier in Greenough.
