In December 2013 the hotel completed a multi-million restoration of all public areas including the entrance and oval lobby hall, Vienna's first and ever-popular American bar and the elegant Bristol Lounge, serving Austrian inspired culinary specialties. The restaurant presents a distinctive atmosphere with an open fireplace, original stucco ceiling and piano performances in the afternoon. Ten new Art Déco suites and rooms on the Mezzanine floor with floor-to-ceiling windows offer breathtaking vistas of the Vienna State Opera.

DESTINATION TIP: The Upper Belvedere Museum and Palace houses the greatest collection of Austrian art dating from the Middle Ages to the present day. At the heart of the exhibits of “art around 1900” is the world’s largest Gustav Klimt collection. The glittering highlights are Klimt’s golden pictures Kiss and Judith, as well masterpieces by Schiele and Kokoschka. Prominent works by the French Impressionists and the outstanding collection of Viennese Biedermeier paintings are further attractions at the Upper Belvedere.
