Originally founded in 1275, present-day Amsterdam is redolent with history. With its numerous museums and galleries, the city is now undergoing an arts-led renaissance that is feeding a resurgent appetite for travel to Amsterdam, both locally and from abroad. The Conservatorium–with its rich history–is part of this renewal.
Did you know? Our contemporary Asian restaurant Taiko is located in the former drums classroom of the Conservatorium music school that was previously housed in the building. In honoring its history, the restaurant by Executive Chef Schilo van Coevorden is named after the Japanese drum, Taiko, which is played every Friday and Saturday.
