A Serene Oasis in Riviera Maya

Perched along freshwater lagoons on the lush Riviera Maya is the Coral Villa, a new addition to Rosewood Mayakoba, a five-star ultra-luxury resort. With interiors envisioned by award-winning interior designer Thom Filicia, the Coral Villa’s design reflects a sense of relaxed sophistication and refined subtlety while celebrating Mexican traditions. The three-bedroom, 4,500 square foot villa debuted this past spring and features a heated swimming pool, outdoor terrace, and private boat dock. Villa amenities include 24-hour private butler service, a daily breakfast buffet, a private eco-tour, and more. The suite’s three bedrooms, large living room, dining area, and terrace all offer unobstructed lagoon views.

What is a typical day in the life of a suite?  A day in the life of the Coral Villa is both glamorous and exciting, though no day is typical. Each guest experience is as unique and distinctive as I am. I begin most days with head to toe primping to achieve my perfect look. I “live” along Rosewood Mayakoba’s fresh water lagoon and my interiors act as a backdrop for the beauty of the Riviera Maya, allowing the lush landscape and natural setting to take center stage.  My beauty team spends most mornings with me, ensuring my appearance is at peak perfection in advance of guest arrival. The team also stocks my full kitchen, bedroom areas and media room with exclusive amenities catering to the specific preferences of our guests and my in-room offerings are customized based on their requests – from wines and spirits to bath products to sweet treats and more.

What is your biggest indulgence in captivating new guests? Rosewood Mayakoba is a world-renowned resort and spa, receiving top honors and accolades year after year. Guests can indulge in our extensive amenities including the award-winning Sense® Spa, designed around a cenote, one of the sacred water wells of the ancient Mayans and offering unique experiences such as the Kuxtal Sensory Garden Journey and Temazcal Cenote Journey; a signature Greg Norman championship golf course; dining at a variety of restaurants and lounges, and more. We have also recently introduced a number of enhancements to guests including the addition of two, three, and four-bedroom ultra-luxury villas; the introduction of Aqui me Quedo, a new ocean-side culinary retreat; and the completion of a multi-million dollar beach restoration project, adding extensive beachfront to our resort.

Is there a famous name, a particular street or monument that you most identify with? What inspired your style? My style reflects a sense of relaxed sophistication and refined subtlety featuring materials, color, and textures that complement the modern architecture and echo Rosewood Mayakoba's dedication to regional authenticity and organic elegance.

What is your suite motto? My suite motto incorporates the overall philosophy of Rosewood Mayakoba and the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts brand – we embrace our sense of place, which reflects our location, history, culture, and sensibilities.
