The Statue of Liberty in Milan

The main square in Milan, Piazza del Duomo, is just outside the doors of Park Hyatt Milan, where the stunning Duomo Cathedral is located. This majestic Gothic-style cathedral—the fifth largest church in the world—encloses a little secret: looking at the facade, you will notice how many statues adorn the exterior surface of the church. But take a minute to carefully stare at the balcony above the main entrance, and there it is: The Statue of Liberty!

The statue, named “The new law”, was sculpted by C. Pacetti 60 years before the one in New York, it is said that it inspired the creation of the Statue of Liberty in the Big Apple.
