The Ultimate in Parisian Pampering

Suite Royale Orientale, at Mandarin Oriental, Paris has a unique style. Philosophies meet and cultures merge as the suite extends on two levels with the perfect harmony of white, beige, black, and green colors. Lacquer blends with velvet, ebony with marble for an emotional journey from Paris to the Orient. The designer Sybille de Margerie has adorned the walls with black and white photographs by Jean-Baptiste Huynh.  The special touch is a 75 square meter terrace; an actual outdoor extension of its interiors, with a lounge and outside dining area as well as an elegant pergola.

Suite Talk Q&A

  1. What is a typical day like in the life of a suite? There is no typical day, and that is what I love most about being this suite! Every day is a new opportunity to welcome guests from all around the world. I always make sure to ask our team at Mandarin Oriental, Paris for their preferences, so I can prepare a welcome gift they will love.
When I have a free day, I let housekeeping take care of me and make sure I look my very best for journalists or people just stopping by to meet me. I have quite a reputation! As a Parisian, it is also no secret I have a sweet tooth. Lucky me, our Chef Thierry Marx knows I can’t resist a glass of pink champagne as well as a Saint-Honoré, my most favorite dessert at the hotel. Don’t worry; I have an exercise bike to burn calories whenever I indulge in a pastry. As I said, I have to look my best.

  2. What is your biggest indulgence in captivating new guests? People say I know how to make an impression. I love to pamper myself, so I want my guests to have a chance to do the same. You have to look your best in Paris, which is why I made sure to have the most glamorous bathroom in the city. Imagine running a hot bubble-bath in a vast white and gold bathroom after a long day. Not to mention my Diptyque products and the wall- mounted TV. You can’t dream of a better sensorial experience! I also have a pergola that all the other suites are jealous of, along with subtly-planted foliage for a natural setting, a removable roof, and a view of Paris to die for!

  3. Who was your all-time favorite guest? I can’t reveal any names, of course. A suite has to keep many secrets. But I can tell you this: I recently had the pleasure of hosting a famous American singer, who has fans from all around the world, including myself. Of course, I did my best to hide my excitement and remained very professional during her entire stay. A renowned suite knows how to behave herself.
