Lana'i

Lana'i is an intimate and quiet island located several miles west of Maui. Here, crystal-clear waters and white sand beaches ring the coast, which is set off by rugged red lava cliffs and misty highland forests. On Hawaii’s smallest inhabited island, you will not find a single stoplight. Rush hour at the Blue Ginger Café resembles a family reunion, as friends and neighbors share greetings of “aloha” over breakfast. Stretches of wild coastline hug a landscape of Cook Island pine forests and rocky, arid plains. And spinner dolphins outnumber snorkelers in Hulopo'e Bay.

Unspoiled, easy-going and endlessly beautiful, this is the Hawaii captured in vintage postcards – part adventure and part romance, with opportunities to experience local culture at every turn. Venture into Lana'i City to shop local boutiques, play a round of golf on a Jack Nicklaus Signature championship course, explore the island’s stunning terrain by hiking or on horseback, Jeep 4x4, or Polaris UTV, set sail for a catamaran on the blue Pacific Ocean or adventure by helicopter for breathtaking views of this magical island. Whether you are seeking an outdoor adventure, a romantic escape or a cultural discovery, you will find it on Lana'i.

The Hotel

Overlooking beautiful Hulopo'e Bay, Four Seasons Resort Lana'i offers an innovative vision of a Hawaiian resort, a perfect base to explore your own 90,000-acre island. The resort offers a transcendent experience that focuses on the beauty, history and vibrancy of Hawaiian culture. Upon arrival, you will find recently redesigned guestrooms, new restaurants, including Nobu Lana’i, enhanced lobby and spa, and access to high-end retail stores. New pool experiences include an adults-only oasis with private sanctuaries. Guests can enjoy numerous activities, including championship golf at Manele Golf Course (just ranked #18 resort course in the United States by Golfweek Magazine), snorkeling in the adjacent marine reserve, yoga at sunrise by the beach, riding horseback through the rugged countryside and exploring the island's rich Hawaiian cultural heritage.

Taste of Place, a collection of culinary and beverage experiences, invites guests to sample local food culture in Four Seasons destinations around the world. Lana'i for All Senses invites guests to be a part of the process. On Lana'i, the Four Seasons staff can be found hunting for Axis Deer, fishing for fresh Onaga, or tending to their personal gardens at home. Guests experience Lana'i with each of their senses in this Taste of Place experience.
